“I don’t have anything to wear,” is a cliche phrase every girl has used at one time or another even when our closet is crammed full. Have you ever tried to find out why we always have ‘nothing to wear’ at one time or another? Maybe we just have the tendency of making the wrong choices whenever we are doing our shopping errands.

Well am just going to give you a list of closet must haves that will give you an idea of what to wear when you have nothing to wear.

BACK TO BASICS>>>>>>>>

1. WHITE TEE

This can either be V neck or round neck. I don’t even know how to start convincing you to get one since my head so loaded with a pile of reasons and the gravity is too much on my neck already!! Do a friend a favour and shine in that white tee. You will thank me later.

2. STRIPPED VEST

Yes!! This should be in your must have list. Most preferably black and white or Navy blue and white stripes. If they have smaller boarders the better. It is easy to wear with either jeans or pencil skirts.

3.WHITE BUTTON DOWN SHIRT

Won’t even say much about this one. Buy yourself one piece and you will find yourself running back to the shop to look for more. The best thing is that it can be worn in both formal and casual settings. You can get them in various colours but the 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice should be white.

4.BLACK BLAZER

Get one which is neither too formal nor too casual. This will make it easier for you to play around with it. After getting yourself a black one make sure the next on list is a white one and a burgundy one. All the best gal.

5.SKINNY JEANS

Don’t worry, I won’t tell you to get a black one this time round. I would advice you to purchase a blue one., not so light not so bright. It an easy pair to wear and note that I said ‘Skinny Jeans’

6. LITTLE BLACK DRESS

You recall what I said about a white T-Shirt?? Please don’t make your girl start narrating the same story again. You can also click here to refer to a former post I made about the LBD. Girl if you don’t have one, you in trouble!! The simpler the better for a starter you can get a pencil one that is just slightly above your knees. This will make it easy to work with it as a casual piece and a formal one too.

7. PENCIL SKIRT

If you’ve ever gazed at a lady make them strides in a pencil skirt in the office am sure you understand why every woman should have it. It can be paired in heels, flats and even sneakers and still look great. For a starter you can go for burgundy or maroon since these two colours are outstanding and very easy to wear too.

8. LAYERING PIECE

Most preferably a sweater since it  is very easy to wear with almost anything you may think of. My advice, get one with a print but an easy print. This will give you a pop whenever you wear it with other pieces.

9. LEATHER JACKET

You can never go wrong with a leather jacket, period.

10. PRINTED SCARF

Most preferably one that got animal print. May be Snake, Cheetah, leopard, aaha!! Name all the animals you know… Tiger, Zebra, African wild dog whichever your fancy is go ahead and get it. Click here to view various ways of tying your scarf.

11. BLACK HEELS

 Even for the flat shoes lovers, a pair of heel will come in handy. In this case, a black heel. You can click here to read on the various  kinds of heels.  I highly doubt I have to sell this one!!

12. BALLET FLATS

This is just one pair of shoe that can be worn with just anything and still look great. Its shape also makes it very easy to wear and it gives that girly girly look. So adorable…. am out!!

13.SANDALS

Our feet need to breath once in a while hence the need of getting one. My advice, let it be a nude pair, that is, one that goes with your colour skin. That is one aspect that will make it easy to wear.

14. WEEKEND SHOES

These can either be sneakers, loafers or just a pair of converse. The kind of pair to wear on an easy day.

15. LEATHER HANDBAG

You need a fancy bag for the office, right?? Invest in a classy nice leather handbag and I guess black would do for starters.

16. CROSS BODY BAG

Most refer to them as sling bags but whichever the case, they are essential. Choose a bright colour, the brighter the better, Turn brown and chocolate brown can also do.

17. CLUTCH

That one bag that you will need to carry for a night out or when going for occasions. Invest in one LADY!

18.UNDERSTATED NECK PIECE

One that gives a pop in your outfit but doesn’t scream out. Just a simple piece to make that simple and relaxed statement.

19. STATEMENT NECKLACE

The kind of piece that once you accessorize your outfit with it, there is a pop of colour and one just can’t keep their eyes off your neck. It also comes in hand during occasions.

20.MENSWEAR INSPIRED WATCH

Am not saying you abandon your fancy beaded watches with the ‘aaawh girl look’ going around. All am trying to say is that once you embrace these kind of watches, you will never go back.

21.SUNGLASSES

You love you eyes, don’t you? If you love yourself then just invest in a good pair and buy a case for them. You need to keep them eyes young and strong.

22.OTHERS

• A NO SHOW UNDERWEAR

One that you can wear with any outfit and we won’t have to see lines going underneath.  A nude colour too that won’t show through your pants. Kindly note, don’t wear a white one with white outfit, we will definitely see it, please spare us all that, okay!

• A BRA THAT IS JUST FOR YOU
• A FANCY BRA
