MY FIRST FEW HOURS AN YEAR OLDER.

IMG-20150920-WA0028Am another year older, wiser and grateful!!

In the bathroom, hot steam filled and warm, that’s where I turned 22 years old. As roughly scrubbed all the dirt, the woes and worries of my 21 years, I got horrified of the idea that I would never get the chance to spend time the exact way I just spent it. I would never be able to close my eyes and make a wish of watching the clock tick as I wait to blow a candle filled cake, a crowd of friends circled around me waiting for the clock to hit 12am and shout ‘Happy Birthday!!’ in all tones of voices and it comes true; all that would be a fantasy just like am doing right now, fantasizing!!

As I stepped out into the rest of the room with my towel warmly caressing my skin I thought of time, time and more of time. I thought of how I had spent my time in the past 21 years and how I wish to spend it for the rest of my life. And it hit me that time is more valuable than money, you can get more money but you cannot get more time.

A few months ago I asked her,

“How do you feel that soon you are going to turn thirty?”

“Am happy and sad at the same time”

“Am already scared the am going to turn 22 years” I answered.

“All I can tell you is use your time well, don’t waste even a bit of it” She answered. And I sat there thinking about the whole time issue…

Then it occurred to me that time is the most precious thing in this world, if you love life don’t waste time, for time is what life is made of.

As I write this the clock is ticking, as you read this the clock is ticking too. The question is, how are you spending your time? Are you using it to recreate and mold the life you are living to be the one you wish to have in the future?

It’s all up to us on how we spend time. A few hours have passed already, and am learning to spend each second and live each day like am never going to have a chance to live it again. One thing you should always keep in mind is that, either you can run the day or you can let the day run you. It’s all up to you.

Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you cannot get it back!!
